> Sign up with your fingerprint or Face ID. No password, no seed phrase.

<Warning>
  The Matocard app is in progress. These guides describe the flow the app follows; the backend and contracts behind each step are already live on testnet.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Matocard">
    Go to [app.matocard.xyz](https://app.matocard.xyz) on your phone and add it to your home screen. It works like an app, without an app store.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a passkey">
    Confirm with your fingerprint or Face ID. Your phone keeps the key; Matocard never sees it. Passkeys sync through iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, so a new phone signed in to the same account keeps access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose where you live">
    Pick your country. It decides which currency and payment methods you see: ringgit in Malaysia, rupiah in Indonesia.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What happens behind the scenes

Your passkey derives an ordinary account on Monad. The app signs you in once with it, and the session lasts up to 7 days, so you are not asked to confirm every screen.

<Note>
  A lost passkey means a lost account today. A recovery path, rebinding a verified identity to a new account after a waiting period, is on the [roadmap](/overview/roadmap).
